Clean and spacious rooms with fun retro decor. Staff was friendly and helpful. Street noise was a bit loud at night, which made it hard to sleep. Convenient location near attractions and a golf course. Parking is an extra $15 per night. Bike rentals are available nearby.

The staff was super friendly, and the location is ideal for walking around Savannah. I wish the room was cleaner and that the bathroom had better maintenance. Loved the small touches like RC cola and moonpies at check-in. Bike rentals are just around the corner, making it easy to explore the area.

The Thunderbird Inn offers a charming retro vibe that's perfect for couples, with comfortable beds and great morning donuts. Its location near downtown Savannah is ideal. room cleanliness needs some attention, especially in the shower and floors. A friendly staff adds to its appeal.

The retro theme hits you the moment you step in. Breakfast with fresh donuts and friendly staff makes mornings a treat.
The bathroom is a tight squeeze.

The hotel is beautifully positioned just a quick 10-minute stroll from the stunning waterfront and even closer to a variety of delightful restaurants and shops, making it the ideal base for wandering through the historic district filled with gorgeous parks and notable attractions like the Mercer Williams House Museum and Chippewa Square; plus, the hospitality of the staff was exceptional, always warm and accommodating, while the traditional breakfast of fresh donuts paired with great coffee was a delightful start to my mornings, but the hotel could improve by being more transparent about their cleaning policies and making the rooms cleaner upon check-in.

Great location. Steps away from everything. The hotel maintained high cleanliness standards and was well-kept throughout. Staff were exceptional—friendly, welcoming, and eager to assist. The 24-hour popcorn and donuts were delightful perks. The vintage decor was charming, echoing 60s flair, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The pet fee was reasonable, making our two-week stay stress-free. The bed was remarkably comfortable, ensuring restful nights. the thin walls allowed some noise to seep in, and the windows collected condensation. Communication via text was challenging for international travelers, given the additional charges. Despite these minor drawbacks, this place exceeded expectations. It’s a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers seeking a cozy experience.

Quirky vibes and friendly staff. Retro decor is fun and the Krispy Kreme donuts are a nice touch. Parking fee is annoying and street noise can disrupt sleep. Nearby bike rentals made it easy to explore.

The bed was comfortable, which was a relief after long days exploring. the AC unit was a major issue; our room felt hot and muggy, with condensation on the windows. The noise level was distracting, with every car and footstep clear as day outside. The room was clean, but we noticed mold issues. We loved the cute perks like Moon Pies and RC Colas, and the decor had a nostalgic charm. But the overpowering smell of bleach upon check-in was off-putting. A room change was denied, and early breakfast options were quite limited.

Quirky decor and a fun retro vibe made for great photo ops. The friendly staff clearly loved what they do, and those morning donuts were a delicious treat! the room cleanliness fell short. We encountered a sticky door lock and an empty lotion dispenser. A brown tint in the tap water was concerning, and the street noise was quite loud. While the atmosphere was playful, a bit more attentiveness to details would elevate the experience. Still, it’s a unique place worth checking out if you enjoy a laid-back, colorful stay.

The room was spacious and had a stunning view from the balcony. The staff was super friendly and made us feel special on our date night.
It wasn’t inexpensive, but the experience was worth it.

I couldn't get any sleep because the room was super bright all night long, despite closing the blinds. Plus, there was this annoying noise from the laundry area that kept going on and off. Total nightmare!

The staff was amazing! Annie went above and beyond to fix our lamp issue right away. Plus, who doesn’t love popcorn and lemonade during the day? The vibe was funky and colorful, and breakfast with coffee and donuts was a delightful treat!

The front desk gave advice on pet-friendly activities, catering to old folks. No closets, just a metal rack - chic! Loved the kitschy design, free WiFi, and Baker's Pride donuts. Perfect location. Enjoyed the lobby with its popcorn machine and gumball touches.
What a delight seeing no closets! .

The room was quite spacious and clean, which was a big plus. I loved the retro decor and little details like the AM/FM alarm clock and the flat-screen TV - it really added to the vibe. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were a bit on the lumpy side for my liking. One thing that bothered us was the noise level. The walls were paper-thin, and we could hear our neighbors talking as if they were right next to us. It made it hard to get a good night's sleep, especially since the inn is right next to a busy road with loud traffic passing by throughout the night. Another issue was the lack of proper curtains in the room. The blinds didn't do much to block out the bright light from outside, and there was a constant noise coming from what seemed like a nearby laundry room that kept me up all night. It would have been nice to have some curtains to help with both the light and noise. Despite these drawbacks, the location of The Thunderbird was great for exploring Savannah. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room amenities like the free toiletries were a nice touch. I do wish there was a bit more attention to detail in terms of noise insulation and room maintenance to make for a more restful stay.

stayed at thunderbird inn, and it was super clean, cozy, with spacious rooms. the location was perfect, away from the busy part of the town but close to everything. the staff were great, especially the front desk man with an amazing smile. the retro-fied decor and the moon pies in the room were a nice touch. budget-friendly and walking distance to city market and downtown.
Nothing could have been better! 😊

Had a jolly good time during the Christmas holidays at a cozy hotel. The location was super, just a hop away from the welcome center and tour buses. Walking in the historic area was a treat , our furry companion wagging his tail along. The staff were top, notch, ensuring we were on the right track with our car. The room was decked out with refillable toiletry pumps, makeup remover packets, and tasty complimentary breakfast donuts and popcorn. A great pick for a charming and budget, friendly stay.
Only hitch was the thin walls where noise traveled easily. Late, night revelers made their presence known, but a quick call to the awesome staff hushed the party.

During my Christmas stay, I had a blast exploring the nearby historic squares, shops, and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Plus, the property being dog, friendly was a huge bonus for my furry companion. The modern and clean aesthetic of the hotel was a pleasant surprise, adding a touch of luxury to my stay.
Despite the positives, there were a few drawbacks worth mentioning. I encountered some cleanliness issues, with long strands of hair found in the shower and sink.

I was eager to visit the Cathedral of St John the Baptist and chose the Thunderbird Inn for its convenient location. But the retro flavor and complimentary wired Internet access pleasantly surprised me. The small dog run and free breakfast were nice touches, and the complimentary dog biscuits showcased their pet-friendly approach.
Uncomfortable retro chairs.
